Casting Workshop with Liz Mullane - Date to be confirmed
Liz has been a professional Casting Director for film and television for 30 years and has worked on many of the biggest productions from Heavenly Creatures, Lord of the Rings and King Kong through to the Narnia Series, The Dead Lands and Mortal Engines. Liz also trained as an actor at the NZ Drama School in 1984 so has an understanding of the industry from two perspectives.
Liz will explain the process for those wanting to understand how casting happens, what the role of a casting director covers, and insights on how to direct actors for screen.
She will also discuss the challenge of low budgets, dealing with agents and their expectations, overseas processes, contracting, and various other industry related issues that affect her job as a casting director. Also how things keep changing from a technical point of view with the digital age making it easier for people to make contact from anywhere in the world.
